Product Description

The senseless killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis in late May has sparked protests and calls for racial justice and social equality around the country and world. Businesses, organizations and communities are looking at their practices and procedures and we as individuals are confronting our own bias.

It is and has always been our goal at Craft Beer Cellar DC to promote equality and fair treatment of people of every color, race, gender and orientation. We want to continue to bring people together through beer and to support our community.

On Thursday, August 13, we're bringing together a panel of local brewery owners, brewers and beer guides to discuss diversity and inclusion in the craft beer community. What is the current state of the craft beer industry as it relates to diversity and inclusion? What can breweries, distributors, retailers and consumers do to practice and advocate equality? We'll hear the personal experiences from members of our panel. And of course, we'll have drinks along the way. We hope you'll join us for this important discussion and virtual tasting.

Co-host: Phil Runco, Beer & Music editor for Brightest Young Things and advocate for our local craft beer scene

Panel Members:

Kevin Blodger - Founder & Director of Brewing Operations of Union Craft Brewing in Baltimore, MD; Chair of the Brewer's Association Diversity Committee

Elliott Johnson - Co-founder, CEO, and Head of Sales and Marketing of Soul Mega in Washington, DC
